How to use eddy current flaw detector to perform nondestructive testing of automobile parts

  • Detection stage:

Start the eddy current flaw detector, the instrument will emit an alternating current and generate an alternating magnetic field through the probe.

The eddy current flaw detector will detect the changes in the reverse magnetic field in real time and convert the detected signals into digital data.

  • Analysis stage:

The inspector observes the detection data through the screen of the eddy current flaw detector and analyzes the abnormal signals in the data.

Abnormal signals usually indicate that there are defects inside the automotive parts, such as cracks, inclusions, etc.

According to the location, size and shape of the abnormal signal, the type and severity of the defect can be judged.

 

4. Precautions

  • When using the eddy current flaw detector for detection, ensure that the probe is in close contact with the surface of the automotive parts to avoid missed detection or misdetection.
