Differences and applications between pneumatic cable blowing machines and hydraulic cable blowing machines

1. Differences in working principles

Pneumatic cable blowing machine: Based on the principle of aerodynamics, it uses the high-pressure airflow generated by the air compressor as the power source. During the laying process, the mechanical cable pushing equipment first pushes the optical cable into the pre-laid pipeline, and then the air compressor sends a strong airflow into the pipeline through the sealed chamber of the air blowing machine. This high-speed airflow forms a drag force on the surface of the optical cable, pushing the optical cable forward quickly in the pipeline. Pneumatic cable blowing machines have the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation, and rapid response, and are particularly suitable for short-distance, small-diameter optical cable laying tasks.

Hydraulic cable blowing machines: use liquid as the working medium and push the optical cable through the pressure transmission of the hydraulic system. It is generally composed of three parts: the machine (host), the power system and the hydraulic control system. The hydraulic cable blowing machine drives the mechanical device through the high-pressure liquid generated by the hydraulic pump to push the optical cable into the pre-laid pipeline. The hydraulic system has the characteristics of large thrust, good stability, and high control accuracy, and is particularly suitable for long-distance, large-diameter optical cable laying tasks. 2. Differences in performance characteristics

The maintenance and upkeep of key components such as air compressors are relatively easy and low cost. However, hydraulic cable blowers have relatively high maintenance and upkeep costs due to their complex structure and numerous components.
